Our Curriculum
Design Technology
At Lees, we aim to inspire a passion for Design Technology by delivering a rich, practical curriculum rooted in real-world skills. From cooking and nutrition to construction and innovation, our DT teaching equips children with essential life skills and links closely with Science and Computing.
Our local heritage as an industrial village influences our approach, celebrating the creativity, problem-solving, and resilience that have long supported our community. With many families working in skilled trades and STEM industries, we see DT as a pathway to future careers.
Year groups enjoys a dedicated Food, Cooking, and Nutrition unit to promote healthy living—an essential focus for our pupils. DT learning is also brought to life through cross-curricular projects and enrichment opportunities, such as our Year 6 Sewing Club, where pupils create memory dolls to mark their time at Lees.
