Geography

At Haworth, our Geography curriculum helps children understand the world around them—locally, nationally, and globally. Through engaging lessons and hands-on experiences, pupils explore how people, places, and environments are connected and constantly changing.

We build on early learning in EYFS, with Geography in KS1 and KS2 designed to spark curiosity, develop critical thinking, and make sense of current and historical events. Our local area plays a key role in learning: from exploring the geography of Haworth in Year 1, to studying rivers and settlements in Year 3, and comparing global geography in UKS2.

With strong links to outdoor learning and educational visits, our Geography teaching encourages exploration, resilience, and a deeper appreciation of the world we live in.
